Man, what a let down this opera is. Yesterday’s opera (Bastien und Bastienne, K50) was a pleasant surprise. Today’s opera (Die Gartnerin aus Liebe, K196) sounds like dialogue from a World War II movie set to nondescript music. It’s dreadful.
